Please join us in celebrarting the ongoing release of their debut collection, Strap (Iron Oak Editions, 2026). A conversation and Q & A will follow the reading.

Dan Kraines is a queer poet of Viennese, Bolivian, and Ukrainian heritage. Their first book is Strap. Dan works for the Hawthornden Foundation and teaches public high school students. Dan won the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Adjunct Teaching. Previously, they worked as a personal assistant to Sharon Olds. Dan lives in New York, in an old tenement apartment on the Lower East Side.
