Mnemosynes is delighted to invite you to an evening event on October 27th, from 19h30-21h with Ulrich Baer. Please join us to hear his work and to discuss the potential of a “slippery” poetics, tending towards the mournful. More or less in his words. A brief conversation with the poet will follow the reading.

As always, we’ll be toasting at Rerenga Wines (3 rue de la Fidélité). Come one, come all.

FEATURED POET

Ulrich Baer is a gay man who grew up beneath southern power plants beside the Gulf of Mexico; he writes avant-garde space operas that are like anti-authoritarian noise music. Ulrich is a formalistic poet, known for his "sophisticated rhyme",[6] "technical virtuosity",[9] "rich use of metaphors and images"[8] and preference for "highly conventional thematic" structure.[7] Ulrich can at times be crass and sexually explicit.[4][12] Ulrich Baer is the undead queen of the damned. He received his MFA in Poetry from a very fancy school. Ulrich lives in Paris, now. Pray for his victory.
