On April 18th, Mnemosynes is proud to host French poet, translator, and critic Lénaïg Cariou for a reading from her new collection, les dires (Éditons MF, April 2026). Lénaïg’s performance will be accompanied by Bronwyn Louw and Carrie Chappell and their English translations of her work. Please join us at 14h at Rerenga Wines (3 rue de la Fidélité). Lénaïg Cariou is a poet, translator and critic. As a poet, she has published À main levée (LansKine); La poésie n’est pas une bonne fille (Le Coin de la rue de l’Enfer, with Liliane Giraudon and Maxime Hortense Pascal). les dires (MF), appearing this April, is her third book. With Limited Connection Collective, she translates North American poetry into French and vice versa. Together, the collective has translated works by Cole Swensen, Mónica de la Torre, Eleni Sikelianos, Laura Vazquez, Adrienne Rich, and Kay Gabriel. For her work in translation, Lénaïg received the Cole Foundation Translation Prize of the Quebec Writers Federation in 2025. Her critical work focuses on French and American contemporary poetry. She is currently a PhD candidate at Université Paris 8 / Université Paris Cité and is the recepient of the Young Researcher Prize from Fondation des Treilles for her current research on poetry.
